Treatment of sterility

Diagnostic & Treatment
Treatment of sterility

The choice of treatment method depends on the cause of sterility, the age of the partner, the duration of sterility and many other factors. If the causes cannot be removed, a woman can become pregnant through artificial insemination.

Treatment of male infertility

General sexual problems: premature ejaculation or impotence can be cured with medication or consultation with a professional.

Lack of sperm: depending on the cause, it can be cured by surgery or hormonal therapy. It is possible to take sperm directly from the testicles and try artificial insemination with it.

Treatment of sterility in women

Stimulation of ovulation with drugs: drugs are the main treatment choice for women who are infertile due to ovulation disorders. These drugs regulate or induce ovulation. They act like natural hormones and stimulate ovulation.

Operation: depending on the cause of sterility, surgery is the choice of sterility treatment. If it is a blockage or some other fallopian tube problem, the problem can usually be removed with surgery.

In vitro fertilization: also called IVF (in vitro fertilization). This technique involves taking an egg from the ovary and fertilizing that egg with sperm in a petri dish, leaving it in an incubator for 3 to 5 days, and then returning the fertilized egg to the uterus. This technique is often used if both fallopian tubes are blocked, in endometriosis, idiopathic infertility, ovulation disorders that do not respond to medication, male infertility, etc. This method requires daily hormonal injections and frequent laboratory tests.

Intrauterine insemination: unlike in vitro fertilization, here the sperm is placed directly in the uterus during ovulation in a woman. It is used in the case of male sterility (low number of spermatozoa or weak motility) and also in case of idiopathic sterility. Sperm can be from a partner or from a donor. Ovulation in women is achieved with the help of medicines. Sterility caused by blocked fallopian tubes cannot be treated with this method.
