Spirals

Diagnostic & Treatment
Spirals
An IUD or IUCD (intrauterine contraceptive device) is a small T-shaped plastic or copper insert that the doctor places in the uterus. Once it's in place, you don't have to worry about contraception anymore. Once placed, it can remain in the uterus for 3 to 5 years and is effective in 98% of cases. Unfortunately, there are also some disadvantages - it is possible that menstrual bleeding becomes more abundant and painful (it improves after 3 months) and there is a small possibility of infection in the first 20 days after the spiral is placed. Regular inspection is advised
